Structural classification of rubber fender

    Generally, rubber fender can be divided into two types according to the structure: solid rubber fender (non-floatation type) and floating rubber fender.

    Solid rubber fender (non-floatation type) is a kind of anti-collision equipment for ships in quay with early application history and wide application range.

    According to the force of rubber fender, it can be divided into shear type, rotary type and compression type.

    According to the fender structure, solid rubber fender can be divided into D type fender, cone, drum type fender, fan fender, rectangle fender, cylindrical fender and so on.

The floating rubber fender can float freely on the water surface. It can be divided into the inflatable rubber fender and the filling rubber fender.

    The aerated rubber fender is a medium of compressed air, through which the collision energy is consumed.

    Foam filled fender, also known as solid polyurethane fender, is mainly made of closed hole foaming materials, such as foam EVA, foam polyurethane and foam rubber.

Solid rubber fender has high energy absorption and reaction, low cost, long service life and simple installation and maintenance.

    Floating rubber fender is a relatively new fender equipment, compared with solid rubber fender, its main features are: large compression deformation, large energy absorption, small reaction force, self-floating, easy to install.

    It is usually applied on such occasions as ship to ship, ship to wharf, barge and berthing.Due to its self-floating characteristics, it is especially suitable for the installation of wharf with large change in tidal level.The filling rubber fender is especially suitable for the application in harsh environment, such as offshore drilling platform.
